Credit Union Difference

At credit unions, our members are our owners. We answer to our members, not investors, and each member has an equal part ownership. The concept of financial cooperative is simple. Credit Unions are owned and operated by their members who pool their savings and lend to each other. Serving members is the reason credit unions exist.

There are no outside shareholders; credit unions are owned by the people who save and borrow there. Earnings are returned to the members in the form of lower rate loans, a higher return on savings, fewer fees and better service to members.

The active involvement of volunteers is the cornerstone of the credit union philosophy. Our board of directors and committee members are elected by and from our membership.

School Branches

Jolt’s School Branch K-8 program brings real world financial literacy and education into All Saints Catholic School in Bay City and Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary in Saginaw.

Jolt and the partner school join to open a fully functioning branch inside the school building where new accounts and deposit and withdrawals are processed. The students using the branch gain money management skills.

Only students, faculty and staff that work at the school can conduct business at the school branch.

Educating students about money management is crucial to their future financial success. Our staff is available for classroom presentations to help teachers educate students about financial literacy. We offer a variety of discussion topics such as: budgeting, establishing credit, managing a checking account and more! Contact us to find out how your school can participate in this program.
